One of today's most innovative piano duos, Richard Steinbach and Howard Helvey have dazzled audiences across the U.S. and abroad since 1997. Performance highlights have included concerts in San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, Madison, Kansas City, Houston, St. Louis, Aspen, Cincinnati, Toronto, London (England), and-by invitation-as duo artists at the national meeting of the Music Teachers National Association convention.
Equally impressive at one piano or two, these engaging artists bring new life to everything they touch-from early Bach and Mozart, to contemporary works by Copland and Corigliano, to new works by Howard Helvey. Their Piano Duo CD on the Towerhill label includes the magnificent and rarely performed Variations on an Original Theme by Schubert, works by J. C. Bach and Debussy, and many inspiring arrangements by Howard Helvey of American folk songs and hymn tunes.
