Hailed as a “star of a new generation” (Evening Standard, London), critics have highly praised British-born organist Clive Driskill-Smith for his “blazing technique” (American Guild of Organists) and described his performing style as “elegant and suave” (The Calgary Herald). Enjoying a glowing reputation on both sides of the Atlantic, his solo recitals and duo performances with percussionist Joseph Gramley (Organized Rhythm) captivate and inspire. Mr. Driskill-Smith moved to the U.S. in 2018 and is the Organist and Choirmaster of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Fort Worth, Texas.

From the Critics

“For sheer colour and finesse in every facet of organ playing, Driskill-Smith will be hard to beat, his mastery of the mechanics of the instrument the best of all of the competitors (in the Calgary International Organ Competition). Elegant and suave in everything he played…”
(Calgary Herald, 2002)

“An all-Bach program displayed the stunning prowess of the young organist Clive Driskill-Smith … [his] artistry and flawless craft of the organ were applauded by a full house.”
(Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Examiner, Florida, 2012)

“The brilliant 26-year-old British organist … launched his concert with an immediately assured and virtuosic performance of the glittering Fête, op. 51, by the Frenchman Jean Langlais … a performance of considerable beauty … this constantly rewarding concert concluded with an organ show-piece, the arrangement by the British organist Edwin Lemare of Rossini’s William Tell Overture.”
(Canberra Times, Australia, 2005)

“A superb recital! It is a privilege to witness a rising star, as he is clearly destined to become.”
(Rochdale Observer, England, 2001)

From the Presenters

“One of the most brilliant performances ever at Holy Trinity. His technique is superb and allows his musicianship to speak clearly.”
(Dr. Stephen Hamilton, Church of the Holy Trinity, Episcopal, New York, NY, 2001)

“Blazing technique. Unbelievable virtuosity. Astonishing talent. The recital by Clive Driskill-Smith, the young English virtuoso (there’s no getting around the use of that word here), invites a string of superlatives such as one does not often use.”
(Peter Beardsley, Springfield, MA AGO Chapter, 2003)

“One of the most talented organists of his generation. His technique is dazzling and his musicianship exemplary. He approaches the literature with an understanding and maturity well beyond his years. In short, he is outstandingly gifted.”
(David Hill, Music Director, Winchester Cathedral, England, 2002)

“An organ recital for music-lovers, not just for other organists.”
(Joseph Kucharski, Milwaukee, WI, 2005)

About His Recordings

“Driskill-Smith is an exciting player with a formidable technique and a sensitivity of interpretation to match … the performances are so refreshing … the technique is brilliant, the interpretation faultless … Driskill-Smith performs to perfection … this is a first class recording by one of our most gifted younger organists. I hope for more soon. Very highly recommended.”
(The Organ, England, 2006)
