"A very special duo where virtuosity and elegance meet" (Barcelona Music Auditorium attractions, Spain)

"Two rising Spanish stars" (Avui Press, Spain)

"Spectacular concert by
exceptional artists"
(Perm News, Russia, Perm Philharmonic Hall performance)

"Congratulations! It was one of the finest performances of this work I have ever heard. I enjoyed it very much, especially the second movement which is very difficult to play on the piano and in combination. You both play in a very secure way, but also with a beautiful musicality." (Marie-Louise Langlais, regarding a performance of the Jean Langlais "Diptyque pour piano et orgue")

"Both artists proved themselves to be musicians blessed with a high level of virtuosity, as well as intelligence and deep interpretative insight....both had an extraordinary capacity to establish musical rapport with each other and the audience." (Francesc Taverna-Bech, Palau de la Musica Catalana, Barcelona, presenter)

"They are both lovers of the keyboards. They love the stage and the music, and they have the gift of excellent musical interpretation." (El Periodico Press, Spain)

Duo MusArt

Leading Spanish
Piano & Organ Duo

Available
October 10-24, 2010
& February 13-27, 2011

Two young Spanish keyboard artists formed the MusArt Duo in 2007 to fill a vacant niche on the Iberian musical landscape; the combination of piano and organ in performance. Teresa Sierra, a noted concert pianist in her own right, and Raúl Prieto Ramírez, Spain's sensational concert organist, are also husband and wife.

They have performed, always to critical and audience acclaim, at Spain's major concert halls in Madrid (Auditorio Nacional, the Conde Duque Hall, and the Circulo de Bellas Artes) and Barcelona (Palau de la Musica, the main city hall, and the Pau Casals hall), as well as elsewhere in Europe, including Russia, and in the United States.

Among the major festivals at which the duo has been featured are the International barcelona Piano Festival, the International Festival in Segovia, and the Third International Organ Festival in Russia.

The high artistic standards and virtuosity which mark their individual performing permit them as a duo to approach the music with the precision and clarity of a chamber ensemble. As Le Monde (Spain) concluded, "They play as with one mind."

The duo offers a wide repertoire of original works for piano and organ, as well as their own transcriptions of works by Tchaikovsky, Lutoslavsky, Horrovitz, Liszt, and famous Spanish masterpieces by Falla and Granados. In addition, they also commission new works by contempory composers to add to this repertoire.
